Cats Care Tips
An interactive art installation revealing the secrets of communicating with cats. Inspired by personal encounters with neighborehood felines, this project empowers visitors, especially children, with essential skills to understand and respond to cats' needs effectively. Through engaging displays and hands-on activities, discover the subtle cues and signals cats use to communicate, fostering a deeper connection and promoting their well-being.
The constant presence of cats surrounding my home
During the development of the project, I conducted numerous pop-up tests and created a variety of mock-ups to serve as the starting point for my piece. Accurate measurements of the size and length of the paper were crucial for ensuring that the pop-up features fit together seamlessly.
I attended a stamp and texture workshop to learn the rubbing technique, which I used to transfer my drawing from tracing paper to white paper. Initially, I sketched the characters and elements digitally in Procreate, allowing for easy size adjustments to ensure compatibility with the popup features. Then, I used tracing paper to replicate my digital drawing by hand.
Each pop-up feature consists of two layers of paper. I combined these layers, adding the characters and elements that I had painted onto them.
The full appearance of the artwork would be revealed when people opened it up.
